On The Road Again

Sep 7, 2005 by

Well, in the morning we begin the drive to NY so at best I might get off a podcast on the way. I won’t have internet access until we reach the House of Hastings (so don’t expect replies to email for a few days). Alexis and I, as well as our cats, need some semblance of stability.

We have now located Linda VanAman, Claudia Dumestre, Casey and Heidi Phillips, Joe and Amy LeBlanc, Roger and Elyse Hackett, Rev. Goat Carson, and Scott and Christi Semineaux. Also, my father’s side of the family is now accounted for as well.

Many thanks to Sandra Dolby, Woody and Christine, Sean and Jo, Casa Chaos, The IU Dept of Folklore & Ethnomusicology, and everyone helping usstay in touch, find each other, and discuss our predicament.

I expect the various other contributors will keep things going while we head for sanctuary.
Take care of each other.

here’s a welcome home for when you get there. state homeland security is apparently still keeping out the red cross. People are still dying. One of the refineries in St. Bernard – I’m assuming the Teneco-Chalmette for ease of visuals – is leaking so much oil that some of the homes in chalmette are now under 2′ (that’s feet, not inches!!!!) of oil. The toll of this on the ecological level is going to rival the toll on the human level, and further add to the destruction of any viable means of supporting oneself in the region. Bye bye, seafood. This is Exxon Valdez meets Hurrican of Galveston.
