The Word on the Street Is…

… That police have apprehended one of the suspected killers of Robin Malta. Extradition proceedings are now taking place to return him to the city.

Update, 10:30 PM: Can this be the story? Not sure. I’ll keep a lookout.

    I will throw a party the day that the murderer of any friend of mne is brought to justice. By the same token while I remain hopeful I do not expect any real meaningful resolution.

    Let us hope. Robin deserves it.

    And Dinneral Shavers, and Helen Hill, and Deacon John’s son, and all the various people who have died of “lead poisoning” in the past nearly 3 years.

    The list goes ever, ever on. Shame really, since it is written in blood.

    Right there with you, Loki.
    Personally, I don’t ever expect any kind of real justice for our family. It’s been over a year. Just hopeful for all of the other people/families in our city who’s lives have been destroyed by this insanity.

    I’ll believe it when I see it, but I am hopeful.

    Are the suspects the same ones they’ve been talking about for a year, or someone new?

    Robin was pure New Orleans, and one of my favorite people in the neighborhood. Why anyone would want to kill him is the biggest mystery. He was a great guy with a big heart. More importantly to me personally, he knew how to make my kids laugh.
