Helen Hill on CBS Tonight
(This just came to us via Paul, Helen’s husband. Help pass it around, and remember not to forget. - Loki HumidCity Founder)
Hi,
this is Paul Gailiunas. I just found out that CBS is showing a documentary about Helen and also about Dinnerral Shavers tonight (Saturday). It was made and aired last year and it is being shown for a second time tonight, at 9 pm Eastern and Pacific Time (which might mean 8 pm New Orleans time, I’m not certain). The person who killed Helen has still not been found. If you can send this email to anyone else who might want to watch it, please forward it.
Thank you,
Paul

Thanks for posting this. As soon as I read, I flipped over to CBS and caught the last 10 minutes. I am in tears. I never got to meet Dinerral or Helen, but I read their stories back when they happened, and as a person that loves New Orleans, despite not living there (yet), the loss of both of them broke my heart.
I wish the violence would be what died next. It’s time for New Orleans to live anew and live UP to the promise of her citizens. Time to throw out the bad eggs, and starting w/Nagin would be a great start.
Peace, and I hope not to offend anyone, not being an actual Y’at. I do love the city and wish I could be there.

I didn’t catch this until way after it aired. Hope it comes on again. I only had a few encounters with Helen, but all were great and she was an incredible person in every respect. Hearing about her death really threw me into a funk for a while

Thanks for the heads up. I video taped this the first time it aired, last year, and have only rewatched it once.
To see this program after watching her & Dr. Paul walking across the street, with little Francis and their pet pig, is just too devastating to desrcibe.
My deepest condolences to Dr. Paul, Francis Pop, and their entire families…
