I am a New Orleans expat who has been stationed in the greater Houston area since 95. I have been reading the N.O. blogs such as this one since that thing in 05 to get some relief from the bile that is spread at NOLA.com and Chron.com. I know I'll get some home cooking from the local bloggers. I can't tell you how it warms my heart to see the people that had to defend N.O. on a daily basis from the vocal minority of idiots that spoke ill of N.O. and the state. Now that Houston and Galveston are on it's respective backs you guys are stepping up to help the everyone including the louts that are getting a taste of what the government that they helped elect is serving. THANK YOU SO MUCH! New Orleans will always be home and I'll keep reading. GO SAINTS! Much love from Katy TX

We may have little ourselves at this point, but it is imperative that we step up to the plate on this one. It was people, not government that helped us after Katrina. We can only assume that the trend will continue.

Having been there we know the hell that is in store for them as the storm fades and the bureaucracy kicks in.

Give if you can. Please.
