Where’s Loki?

Nov 30, 2008 by

As some have noted my own personal posting here has dropped off a bit recently. It’s not from lack of desire so much as from the need to work on things that pay my bills. Don’t worry, a whole new season of the now traditional twisted Xmas carols in in the offing, as is a very special Prospect.1 audiocast. You’re not rid of me yet.

One of the things I’ve been working on is a new blog for myself. Since HumidCity evolved into this amazing hive mind that it is today I’ve found it harder and harder to justify posts that stray from the overall topics of government, New Orleans, and all the other things we usually rant about. As a pro blogger I wanted to have a place to park my ruminations about the Internet, social media, and geek culture. Being a New Orleanian I decided that food and drink needed to be a big component as well.

Thus was born SocialGumbo. I’d like to use this shameless plug to direct those interested in my non political writing to wander by, subscribe to the RSS Feed, leave comments, etc. (You can even follow @SocialGumbo on Twitter as a bonus should you be so inclined…)

I’ll be reviewing free and low cost tools online for people trying to create a web presence along with musings on the evolution of social media and that grand element of being social that all New Orleanians love to address: recipes (food and drinks).

Thanks, you may now return to your regularly scheduled ranting. Hope to see you there!

  1. Loki!
I, for one, applaud any further online presence you wish to undertake.
I look forward to your madness and genius, often indescernable, in both the cyber and culinary arenas.

While many have been graced by your efforts from thje Silver Machine through Humidcity, there are a special few who have experienced that
“something cooking on the stove” magic you do so well.

In fact, I wish you’d do it again soon. I’ll bring the Jameson.
