WHO DAT fever and New Orleans pride aside, those dudes played some seriously kick ass fucking football.

They deserve to go to the Super Bowl on that merit, alone.
If they play that game as well, they deserve to win it.
And I believe they will.

Now then, as a New Orleanian and WHO DAT National, I’m bull goose crazy about this, and love dem guys for giving back so much to The City That Loves Them.

But even if I weren’t, I’d have to bow to their sheer staying power and winning determination.

Thanks, Saints.
You guys fucking rock.

Lift up thy voices and make a raucous noize unto the Dome.

A noize so powerful that it moveth the very earth on which the city is built by, oh, letteth us say twenty-two feeteth or so;

A noize so shrill that it causeth the ears of angels to ring most annoyingly liketh a pop song which simply won’t go away when thou art sick of it;

A noize so loud that it soundeth as a hundred-million Loki with very, very powerful bullhorns that go up to eleven;

A noize so noizesome that it shattereth the heavens and causeth the clouds to part, that we may gaze upon God himself as he fireth up the big-screen TV and placeth the comfy footcloud beneath the feet of Ashley Morris, who, just for these few hours, (and perhapseth another few two weeks from now,) is alowed to sit upon His throne!

I’m with ye Loki…anyone who can resist the whodat/Saints fever at this point has little love for New Orleans. It’s about far more than football – it’s a focal point for everyone in New Orleans (Louisiana even) to haul together, stand up together, SHOUT together and be share in the strength that this spirit generates. IF we can pull together like this for a game, imagine what we can accomplish? As a state, a city, a COMMUNITY…a large portion of “New Orleanians” were not born here – be they were re-born here; loving the good in this city, the CULTURE, the creativity, the diversity, the history.

While we shout “WHODAT say dey gonna beat dem Saints?” think of it really as “WHODAT say dey gonna beat dis city? NOBODY dat who!”

Like the Gators in Barataria, we don’t just survive, we’ll outlive ye all…

Loki, I’ll watch that game with ye…and I’m no particular fan o’ football either – but I’m a huge fan o’ New Orleans. (I will, however pass on the cheerleader outfit…don’t want to frighten the women and children more’n I have to)
