F.A.Q.

Why HumidCity?

Have you ever been to New Orleans?

Who are the contributors?

The authors presented on HumidCity are hand picked solely by Loki, the Blogmaster. The cast has rotated a fair bit since the sites inception a few months before Hurricane Katrina and the cataclysmic failure of the levee system. My sole criterion is that they are voices I feel need to be heard. Period. They are not censored in their expression. To see who is actively contributing work (i.e. at least two posts a month) go here, to see a listing of some of the former contributors go here.

What is your relation to Humid Haney and Whence Studio?

Other than similarity of name and the fact that Loki and Mr. Haney once worked together at a design studio, there is none.

HumidCity is a platform for New Orleans voices and culture. Humid Haney is the blog of local designer Blake Haney, whose studio, Whence produces the Dirty Coast line of New Orleans based T-Shirts. I often wonder if Blake gets this question as often as I do…

So I see all kinds of postings, restaurant reviews, politics, rants, pictures. What’s the overall idea?

The commonality is that all of the content is related to the city of New Orleans. Past, present, future, culinary, satirically, politically and often reprehensibly New Orleans.

How can I get involved?

Contact Loki, his contact info is here. Always willing to look at a writing sample or entertain a conversation.

So what is the Official Sports Team of HumidCity?

Why the Big Easy Rollergirls of course!

So what is the political/religious/moral stance of HumidCity?

Our solid unified stance as a group of writers is that New Orleans and its culture must be preserved. To that end we will propagate the good and expose the bad to the best of our ability. Other than that we bring a wide variety of voices representing a wide variety of beliefs and backgrounds to our little outpost on the Internet.
