May 29th, 2006 by LokiLEARY FIGHTS FOR NEW ORLEANS’ FORGOTTEN FIREMEN Funnyman DENIS LEARY is getting serious about the plight of New Orleans, Louisiana’s firefighters who are too proud to ask for charity following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
He’s raising money for rescue boats, showing more common sense than the governmental bodies who should be doing so. Funny how it has been the people rather than the administration who have rallied to our aid throughout these troubled time. I guess I need to reread the fine print on that old Social Contract thing…
