GEORGE W. BUSH PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY DESTROYED BY FLOOD

June 2nd, 2007 by Loki

Crawford, Texas (AP) - June 1st, 2007

In a strange twist of irony as hurricane season officially opened today, a tragic flood this morning destroyed the personal library of President George W. Bush. The flood began in the presidential bathroom where both of the books were kept. Both of the books have been lost. A presidential spokesperson said the president was devastated, as he had almost finished coloring the second one.

White House staff members repeatedly tried to call the Federal Emergency Management Agency to notify them of the situation, but there was no answer.

Now that we are done with the fireworks I would like to steer you towards a lovely laundry list of incompetence and abuses, the drowing of New Orleans being only one, that make it neccessary to demand new leadership for our beloved country. The Yankee Doodler is to be praised for their cogent presentation of the facts (via Suspect Device)

The Yankee Doodler: US: Declaration 2006

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for we the people to reject our representative leaders, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that we declare the causes that impel us to our discontent.

Since a long train of abuses by our public servants has evinced a design to reduce us under a growing despotism, it is our right, it is our duty, to throw off, peacefully and civilly, such representation, and to choose new guards for our future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of the people of the United States these last six years, and such is now the necessity that impels us to demand new leadership.

QUESTION: You’ve said you are not planning to see Al Gore’s new movie, but do you agree with the premise that global warming is a real and significant threat to the planet?

BUSH: I think it’s — I have said consistently that global warming something is a serious problem.

CNN.com - Brown: E-mail shows Bush glad FEMA took Katrina flak - Jun 11, 2006

The e-mail stated that Bush was relieved that Brown — and not Bush or Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff — was bearing the brunt of the flak over the government’s handling of Katrina. (Watch how Brown fell from grace — 4:00)

The September 2005 e-mail reads: “I did hear of one reference to you, at the Cabinet meeting yesterday. I wasn’t there, but I heard someone commented that the press was sure beating up on Mike Brown, to which the president replied, ‘I’d rather they beat up on him than me or Chertoff.’ “ (Copy of e-mail [PDF])

The sender adds, “Congratulations on doing a great job of diverting hostile fire away from the leader.

(All emphasis mine-Loki) Many Thanks to Jeremiah Junken for pointing this one out! I’m no fan of “Heckuva Job Brownie,” but I am also not suprised at this email or the fact that he was the sacrificial goat for GW’s incompetence. After all, GW was the one who put an unqualified idiot like Brown in office in the first place. (And before the democrats reading this get all high and mighty go look at the records of that appointment, Dems did not stop that appointment, they supported it!)

It does give you hope for the American Dream though, after all if a man can screw up the IAHA and get fired and go on to head up FEMA then anyone can aspire to anything, qualifications notwithstanding. Be nice to your waiter, he may be the next Secretary of State!

Why Am I Not Surprised?

Thank you, WBOC TV!
White House hurricane drill simulates direct hit on New Orleans
WHITE HOUSE The White House is holding a hurricane drill today that simulates a Category Five storm scoring a direct hit on New Orleans.
Spokesman Tony Snow says Cabinet secretaries are among those coming to the White House complex for the exercise. They’ll help test “readiness and response” ahead of next week’s start of the hurricane season.

However, President Bush won’t take part. He’s traveling to Pennsylvania for an energy speech and a G-O-P fund-raiser.
