The 3 “Leaders” in NOLA, Bush’s Trojan Taco, the North American Union and RFID Chips…

April 21st, 2008 by NOGoddess

To follow up on Loki’s post about our not so favored visitors these next couple of days, I’d like to delve in a bit further, into that uncomfortable territory of what’s really going on behind the scenes - you know, the things that make the sheeple and even many thinking Americans start shouting “conspiracy theory.” Unfortunately, we’ve been getting duped for a long long time, long enough that there’s finally tangible proof of what’s been worked on for the last 60 years or so. Sadly, I fear the proof will do little good, that the wool has been so firmly pulled over our eyes that it’s simply too late to undo what’s been done. Words I hate to hear myself say, as I’ve always considered myself an activist and done what I’ve could to fight the fights I’ve thought needed fighting, always optimistic that we still stood some kind of chance of fighting the power’s that be. Only, it turns out that the power’s that be are little more than figureheads doing the bidding of some much more secrete entities on whose radar our activist antics don’t even register as even the tiniest of blips.

So what the hell am I talking about?

Check out this video for an overview of the real forces that have been working behind the scenes for so long and lovely new tracking devices coming soon to, well, you:

OK, I can’t figure out how to get a youtube video embedded in this here WordPress blog (despite much google research) so if anyone can clue me in, please do. In the meantime, here’s a straight up link to the video.
Fun stuff, eh?

new orleans? the new n-word

November 23rd, 2006 by PH Fred

has new orleans become the new n-word? you know… unmentionable. uncomfortable. laced with racial stereotypes and undertones. a source of hatred and misunderstanding. able to be used by some publicly, yet used by many more behind closed doors. antiquated yet somehow clung to. in years to come only members of the club will have priveledge to utter its name or show its sign. the downtrodden. the liberated. the freed. and just like the other n-word — not understood by linguists, the media or our dear government… BLOG THIS!

open letter to a closed media

October 13th, 2006 by PH Fred

it appears the the local media (TV and TP as well as Gambit) is busy reporting stories about business as unusual in the Big Easy (crime, corruption, and frustration). Readers are growing tired of false expectations and bad promises. Readers have grown weary and bleary-eyed of the focus on the BAD NEWS of bad, bad New Orleans. Shouldn’t we try to see something positive? Wouldn’t we be more likely to get people to return? Wouldn’t we be more likely to get businesses to stay? Wouldn’t we be more likely to convince other states to help? You know… it’s the old flies and honey cha cha cha… Vigilantes and murders may sell papers, but they’re not going to help the economy. I know there is good news out there, I beg you to shout it from the top of monkey hill… we need it. We need it desperately. We need it now. No shots need to be fired. No crimes have to be committed. But, is that such a bad thing? BLOG THIS!

Goosestepping towards Femaville

July 28th, 2006 by Loki

Thanks to the lovely and talented Maitri for bringing this up in the comments. The issue of interviews being impeded in FEMA trailer parks has sparked a lively discussion on the New Orleans Livejournal Community. Check it out, there is even a cop weighing in on the subject.

Day 331: Something Smells Rotten In Trailerland

July 25th, 2006 by Loki

Since when do we need to have a government representative along for a press interview? This has just got to be illegal, or at least would have been in Pre-Bush America. I don’t know which angers me more, this Orwellian supervision or the Harrah’s sponsored KAtrina Anniversary plans recently unveiled.

FEMA a Disaster for Freedom of the Press

The Federal Emergency Management Agency prohibits journalists from having unsupervised interviews with Hurricane Katrina victims who have been relocated to FEMA trailer parks, according to a report in the Baton Rouge Advocate (7/15/06).

“If a resident invites the media to the trailer, they have to be escorted by a FEMA representative who sits in on the interview,” FEMA spokesperson Rachel Rodi is quoted in the article. “That’s just a policy.”

The Advocate report, by reporter Sandy Davis, describes two separate attempts to talk to people displaced by Katrina that were halted by the intervention of a FEMA security guard. In the first incident, in a Morgan City, Louisiana camp, an interview was interrupted by a guard who claimed that residents of the camp are “not allowed” to talk to the media.

Any followup info would be appreciated. All we have right now is hope that the truth will make an impact. Denying people the right to speak frankly about the circumstances they have been thrust into is about as anti-American as it gets. Hardly shocking during an administration which seems terrified of the idea of free speech.

Here’s toast tot he ghost of McCarthy…..
