“Tired Negative Attacks”

June 6th, 2008 by Loki

That is what John McCain called Senator Obama’s campaign staffers pointing out that he has not once, but twice voted against and 8/29 Commission. Now both Senators are politicians, which means I don’t trust either one of them. This is why I love the Annenberg Political Fact Check. A non partisan group that documents the realities behind the political posturing.

Today they addressed this one. Here is the summary, once you’re done click the link at the bottom for full documentation with sources.:

McCain was asked by a New Orleans reporter why he voted twice against an independent commission to investigate the government’s failings before and after Hurricane Katrina, and he incorrectly stated that he had “voted for every investigation.”

McCain actually voted twice, in 2005 and 2006, to defeat a Democratic amendment that would have set up an independent commission along the lines of the 9/11 Commission. At the time of the second vote, members of both parties were complaining that the White House was refusing requests by Senate investigators for information.

The McCain campaign accused the Obama campaign of “tired negative attacks” for pointing out and documenting McCain’s gaffe.

Fox Jokes About Offing Obama

May 28th, 2008 by Loki

Now maybe its just me, but if this was said about a Republican politician there would be a storm of protest, accusations of treason, and a general call for torches and pitchforks. I submit the following as evidence in the case for the corporations that advertise on FOX to begin pulling their ads.

Why am I bringing this up here? Because the failure of the fourth estate is one of the major factors that has allowed the situation on the Gulf Coast to become the mess that it is. The consistent, mindless jingoism of FOX in particular has endorsed the most absurd offerings to trumpet forth from the White House with no attention paid to the actual facts they should have been reporting.

Darth Cheney’s favorite propaganda network strikes again!

Can you tell you’re getting played?

I keep reading bulletins and news reports about Barack Obama’s pastor, and the remarks this pastor has made. Who cares?

Barack Obama didn’t make these statements.
His retiring old pastor did.

Barack decided to distance himself, without trying to destroy an old man who was about to retire.
I think that shows character and integrity, yet he is being condemned for remarks that this pastor made.
Because he ‘associated’ with this pastor.

Bill and Hillary Clinton ‘associated’ with the McDougals, who later went to prison for fraud in the Whitewater Land Investment Scandal.
In fact, the Clintons claimed to have lost documents that showed the level of their own involvement.

Hillary Clinton went as far as to claim some of the documents never existed.

The ‘non-existent’ documents magically appeared, with Hillary’s finger prints on them, just weeks after the statute of limitations on prosecution went by. Read the rest of this entry »

Teen Beat for President

March 14th, 2008 by Lord David

I’ve just been reading through assorted emails, bulletins, forwarded blogs, etc. and have noticed an alarming trend. No, not the outrageous price of Gubernatorial Hookers, which I admit, was whimsically surprising, but the absolute shameless idiocy that is rising around the upcoming Presidential Election.

I’ve been on the receiving end of a series of bulletins informing me that Barrack Hussien Obama was BORN TO A MUSLIM FATHER. This, I’m told is nearly enough to put him off the ballot, because he absolutely MUST BE an underground muslim agitator. The same letter condemns him because his Pastor at the United Church of Christ is against the war in Iraq.

So, we’re supposed to hate this ‘Muslim’ because of his ‘Christian’ associations? No, not really. The bulletin ends by informing me that it’s not right in America to have a President with “a name like that.”

“Hello, Stupid Police? We got some right here.

Come and pick them up, willya?

Oh, yes, we promised them all free healthcare, so they’re waiting around indefinitely.”

I think that we should all mail in our votes to Teen Beat Magazine, with that little coupon for free Glitter Covers for our cell phones. Votes can be decided by who likes candles over sunsets, which candidate last took a long walk on the beach, the name of their first dog, and a brief quiz on the latest episodes of Gossip Girl.

As long as it’s not during American Idol.

As I make my plans to move further south into the Caribbean (we’re currently the northern-most city, ya know) I can rest assured that what was once the Greatest Country in the World, will carry on, eating drive-through fast food until they can’t get out of the car, arguing over Total Request Live & American Idol (that’s “idle” BTW), waiting to see if Ashton is filming Paris this week, and voting for the President of the United States based on a name he was given at birth, like anyone could control that.

Whoever these people are, their mothers must be so proud. When she gets home from her second job to do their laundry, maybe she’ll say so. If Homeland Security says it’s okay. I’ll be doing something soon to be long forgotten, if not illegal, here in the old USA.

Reading a book.
