Hi everyone:
I’ve been able to help many people host individuals and families. One problem is that Houston area phone lines are busy even with voice mail. Many of the homes being offered come from people privately through me. I have talked to most of the people offering housing, so I am certain of character. Many are offering additional assistance, including transportation and food. Now, don’t be afraid to ask. We are here for you. Please contact me if you need help finding housing or would like to post through me. There are limited resources now for homes in the Houston area. I have many individuals and families willing to help long-term. One apt in KC will take up to fifteen people. Some have special requirements but mostly they have opened their doors freely. I understand the issues with family and not wanting to leave the affected areas, but I hope some will relocate for at least the school year to get back to life until your GOVERNMENT ENTITLEMENTS COME THROUGH. I also rec. getting your names in with Habitat for Humanity to be first on the lists for new homes. See:https://www.habitat.org/cd/disaster/house/request.aspx
GODSPEED! Please call or write for options. Bridget
