Ex-FEMA Leader Faults Response by White House – New York Times

As the realization sinks in, even through the thick skulls of the current adminstration, that the response to Katrina was nothing short of criminal we begin to see the desperate scurrying of rats. Whether he is trying to shift the blame or actually bringing to light incompetence and malfeasance in the current administration Brown’s testimony will begin the process of shining a light into the dark corners of the situation.

It is my hope that we do not expire while they play the blame game. Don’t get me wrong, I want heads to roll. Bush, Cheney, and Rice for staying on vacation while my city suffered. Blanco for ignoring the Posse Comitatus and giving Bush a legal excuse for some of the deadly dawdling. C. Ray for his racist and backwards Chocolate City remarks, I could go on. I simply think that there is a lot that needs to be done to ensure the survival of the city.

Then again, at the rate things have been going impeachment and indictment may be the only tools we have to get something done.
