Presidential Debate – Bring it on home…
As the Commission on Presidental Debates works on it’s final decision as to which of 16 cities will win the application, I urge each & every one of you to do your part to bring it to New Orleans. Not only will this bring much needed dollars in terms of tourism, hotel usage, restaurant patronage, etc., but will thrust New Orleans back into the spotlight, not as the ravaged hell-hole we hear about in newspapers halfway across the country, but as a shining example of a people who are dedicated to a cause and belief. We are those people.
Besides the obvious attention to issues, the idea that the Future President of the United States of America will make their commitments and promises at the Morial Convention Center, the site of so much horror and lost life during the immediate aftermath of Katrina, stands as a future reminder of the power to lead a nation to salvation or failure.
There is nothing more vital to our lives in this city today, than to stand up for ourselves, our families and future, and refuse to be ignored.
Special thanks to Stephen D, Board of Directors, Friends Of New Orleans, and to change.org for these and so many other efforts. It’s working.
