And Now For Something Completely Different

I would like to take the opportunity to wish a Happy Birthday to a man I have never met, but whose impact on my own life as well as millions of other lives has been huge.

Today, Stan Lee, the creator of Spiderman, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men and many more of the titanic figures that comic books have added to our cultural mythology, turns 85 years old. He started working in comics at 17, you do the math.

Even if you have never read comics you ow his work. The silver screen is constantly dragging the old four color heroes he created into the 21st Century for audiences who may never have turned a single page in the original medium. He has a cameo part in every one of the new wave of Marvel Comics based movies so far from Spiderman to the upcoming Iron Man movie with Robert Downey,Jr.

Happy birthday Stan, and thanks! Thanks for the stories!
