Wish for the new year
Neil Gaiman, as usual, says it far better than I ever could:
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and
good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who
thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make
some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And
I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.
This is what he wrote in 2001, and has reposted in both ’04 and this year. I can easily see why, it’s the best statement of everything a new year should bring, distilled down to three potent sentences.
May the above be true for everyone this year!
