NoLA Rising Art Event – Pot Luck Dinner with NOLA Food Co-op
These guys, particularly Michael Dingler, have been in the news recently as the object of the Gray Ghost’s vendetta against art. I view the following event as a positive response…
NoLA Rising will be hosting a Painting Party, Saturday March 8th, in the Park at the corner of Press & Dauphine Streets, in the Marigny, next to Studio XO (weather permitting). Starting about 10am.
Their manifesto for this event is as follows: “This go ’round, we’ll be approaching the NoLA Rising event from two angles. We’d like to donate a portion of the artwork created to non-profits that have been helping people get back into their homes following hurricane katrina. We’ll go through Habitat for Humanity and Furnishing Our Neighbors. Lets make a house a home with some artwork! The rest will be put up by our growing army of NoLA Risers who would like to see art up around town.”
PLEASE: If you plan to attend, bring paint. In fact, bring paint, anyway. Latex house paint is available for about $5 a gallon at the Green Project, three blocks away at Press Street & Marias. Donations to this admirable cause are greatly appreciated and may actually assure you getting involved with making something beautiful in a world full of ugly.

The NOLA Food Co-op is hosting it’s monthly Pot Luck Dinner in the Bywater this month. For news about the Co-op Grocery slated to open in the Universal Furniture building at St, Claude & St. Roch, or just to hang out & eat dinner with the neighbors, join the party at 3500 St. Claude Avenue on Monday 2/18 at about 6:30 pm.
It’s pot luck, bring something, ya heard?
