The two 15-year-old suspects in the killing of a French Quarter woman will be tried in adult court for first-degree murder, an Orleans Parish Juvenile Court judge ruled Wednesday.

Both teens told detectives they had planned to go to the Quarter with the intention to rob people.

NOPD Superintendent Warren Riley said Tuesday that despite young age of the suspects, they should not see freedom again if convicted.
“Wendy Byrne has suffered the ultimate at the hands of these two juveniles,” Riley said at a Tuesday press briefing. “You can’t bring her back. Should these two walk the street again? In my opinion, no.”

Lord David says: I only wish Riley, and fellow officers, had showed this much enthusiasm when clues to these robbers whereabouts were given to the 5th district police, over a month ago.
