Woo Woo – Four Years Ago (NSFW)
Four Years ago I watched in horror as my city was submerged in the wake of the levee failures. I was in a hotel in W. Memphis, TN that was filled to bursting with refugees from New Orleans.
This is where HumidCity was truly born. Its few months online blogging about art and music in NOLA were eclipsed by the titanic events around us. Little did we know how much worse it would continue to get.
I'd like to share one of the podcasts I made back then, and interview with a young African American from the 9th Ward called "Woo Woo." We had just watched the flooding of areas across the city on CNN and I was delirious from stress induced sleep deprivation, yet his spirit and enthusiasm helped to pick up my spirits.
I hope Woo Woo is doing well wherever he is.
Be advised, in addition to delirium there is a god bit of profanity involved in this recording.
