It’s Sneaking Up
…and time will do that to us all like it does.
It’s coming on August 27th at Xavier University this year, and I know you want to be there. Preceded by a meet and greet party the night before at a local watering hole, a meeting of people who care about New Orleans will commence with a light breakfast and a dive into panel discussions, various speakers, and many opportunities to connect with the community, complete with a lunch included in your registration fee.
Last year’s speaker rocked it with her talk of the coverage of the BP oil disaster. Last year’s panels dealt with the environment, local public safety and justice issues, the HBO show Treme, and Louisiana politics. Last year, we packed food for the needy at Second Harvest Food Bank’s new warehouse.
This year, there’s a panel on Social Media and Social Justice, another on the food culture of New Orleans, and much, much more on the way, including a talk by Richard Campanella.

See how time can sneak up on you?
