Thankfully Over It…But Not All Of It

I’d say the bloom has been off the many-birded main course for quite a while now. We enjoy a good meal on the turkey day all the same, but we appreciate being around friends and family much more as the years pass.

I know Thanksgiving isn’t the same for everyone. Too much cooking, too much closeness with family you avoid most of the year, and perhaps too much of a bloated sense that pressures to spend spend spend for the coming midwinter holidays begin on the Turkey Day weigh so many down when it comes to this very American day. I can’t say I haven’t had frustrating experiences with it myself, but what I’m interested in is how people make the best of these situations. Do you forego the family and go with the friends? Avoid cooking and cater it all in? Treat it like any other day? Make your own traditions? Leave me your ways to make the day special (or not) in the comments below.

As for me, I’m thankful for all of you who keep stopping in to check out Humid City. Stay well and be kind to your plumbing.
